Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts Review

Welcome to my review of Kingdom Hearts for the PS2. This game developed and Published by Squaresoft, Kingdom Hearts is rated E. Kingdom Hearts is a  Role Playing game and a Action RPG. Here is my review of Kingdom Hearts for the PS2.

On the Positive side This game has wonderful Music. This game is full of the best music you may ever hear in a game with Disney characters in it. From the beginning of the games you will be treated to a orcastra of music that will make you excited to play the game and will have you dancing through the game. And some of the songs sound like they very good recreations of music from the movies. Some of the songs sound like they should have been in the original Disney movies. An example the song playing during the Aladdin level fits the Arabian theme well. And the opening song “simple and clean” will get you addicted to kingdom hearts faster than you can say nerd gear. The second good thing is that this game looks great and it is very enjoyable watching all of your favorite Disney cartoons it the Kingdom Hearts style. Some of the cut scenes are breathtaking and will leave you wanting more. Every Disney character in this game looks great in CGI and they act just like you remember. Some of the cut scenes are a little bit too long but they are beautiful. The third good thing about this games is that the story is awesome. The story takes just enough twist to keep you interested but not so many that you get dizzy. The main story about the hero Sora acts like a giant ladder story. In this game you visit every Disney “world”. Every Disney World is just a summary of the Disney movies that they represent. This allows for Sora to be in every Disney world in a very clean manner. The main story about Sora’s fight against the nobodies acts as a ladder story with every Disney movie acting like the steps on a ladder.

This is a really good game but there are some parts of the game that are bad. The first bad thing about this game is that parts of this game feel childish especially when you start building your gummy ship. The reason why is because you need your gummy ship to travel from world to world. Unfortunately you have to find the gummy blocks in each Disney world. The gummy blocks act like wooden blocks that you need so you can update your gummy ship. Unfortunately those blocks look like something you would give a toddler. The blocks not only look childish but having to upgrade your gummy ship and then fly it to each planet, acts like a roadblock to the wonderful storyline that is Kingdom Hearts. and you need to fly your gummy ship everytime you travel from world to world so you will be doing a lot of flying. The second bad thing about this movie is that If you do not like Disney movies then this game is a big turn off. There are many good Disney movies that are represented in this game and every one of them is redone for a more mature audience but some people may not like the idea of having to work with whinny the Pooh. If you do not like the Movie Tarzan you may not like the idea of having to play through that level. The third bad thing about this game is the controls. The controls are ok but sometimes they feel like they are working against you. Especially sense the sub menu is navigated with the D – Pad but the sub menu controls Items, misc, and attacks so you can not attack someone while you are trying to use magic. The controls are not horrible but they do take some getting use to.

Because of all of the above this game gets a B
