How much HDD space does your computer need?

The amount of HDD space your computer needs depends on how much you use it or what you are going to use it for. HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive. This is the drive where all your data is stored. If you save a document it usually gets stored on the HDD. Windows runs off of the HDD.

The amount of HDD space that you need on your computer depends on what you use the computer for. If you plan on using a service like iTunes. you will need more space that someone who is going to use the computer for just the internet. If you think you may start buying movies on iTunes or any other service that lets you download videos you may want a computer with at least 250 GB of storage. If you have a digital camera you may want to look into a computer that has at least 120 GB of storage. If you have an iPod or a different mp3/video player please remember that for you to fill it up with music and movies first the data needs to be stored on your computer.

A rule of thumb that I use is always buy a computer with more HDD space than you think you need. That way in 1 - 2 years you do not find yourself buying another Hard Drive, or worse and more expensive, another computer.
